Best First ‘Pool’ Weekend in Texas

During this time of year, many pool owners debate about when they should open their pools. When is to early? When is to late? Our expert Dallas pool builders dive deeper in to those questions below.

When is the best time to bust out the beach towels?
Considering this is Dallas, swimming season officially kicks off much earlier than in other cities outside of Texas. Typically we start to see temperatures consistently above 90 come May. That’s the definitely the case right now. If you cover your pool and you wait too long into the spring though you may uncover a green swimming pool full of algae which will be a pain to clean. So start early on cleaning your pool sometimes in April-early May before you’re ready to get out those beach towels.

What if I’m late?
Late July, early August is about the time when people have their end of summer parties. If you haven’t gotten your pool ready to take a dip yet, better late than never to clean the pool and enjoy the last bit of the warm weather and get it ready for closing up over the cooler months. The sooner you clean it the less it will cost you in time and money in the long run. If you let the algae sit all winter you could be in for a nasty surprise next summer or even having to resurfacing your pool prematurely.
